The Chef

Chef Joseph DiFrancesco began cooking professionally in restaurants along the South Shore 15 years ago and proudly teaches at his alma mater Massasoit Community College where he also sits on the school’s Culinary Advisement Board.

His career with the Bar Rustic family began at Rustic Kitchen, a sister restaurant, as a line cook, before eventually earning the title of Chef de Cuisine. Joe has spent time working throughout Boston in some of the city’s best restaurants and has staged with region's top chefs and creative minds experimenting with flavors from around the world.

The constantly evolving menu at Bar Rustic is the product of Chef Joseph's decade of culinary exploration bringing together the best from our region’s farmers, ranchers, and fisherman to create classic New England fare with worldly twists.

Drawing inspiration from the timeless staples of Northern Italy all the way to the spices of Southeast Asia, his creations have a distinct signature and are crafted with love and soul.
